“Canal Art”: Curated Exhibition for 100th anniversary of Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Confederation Park, Ottawa.
Perched in a celestial forest, a vintage steel Moose surveys human activity along the managed banks of the Rideau Canal. From this heavenly abode, surrounded by angelic creatures big and small, he remembers roaming the cedar-filled wetlands in slower times before colonization. Contemplating the woes of Colenel By, the builders and bureaucracy, he ponders the evolution of this fragile terrain; from wartime waterway to national treasure; waves of memory lapping over his ancient forest home.
